Living on Minimum Wage

Book Cover of Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich

Join us Spring 2015 as we read Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich.  Ms. Ehrenreich, a journalist and political activist, embarked on an experiment of trying to survive on minimum wage over a three year period.  During this time she worked as a waitress, a hotel maid, a house cleaner, a nursing home aide, and a Wal-Mart clerk in different parts of the United States.  Through this experience, Ms. Ehrenreich discovered the challenges and difficulties minimum wage workers face in our country.

Nickel and Dimed Book Giveaway & Kickoff!
