Eric Arthur Blake (1903-1950), better known by his pen name George
Orwell, is one of the 20th century’s most influential writers. He was the author
of six novels, as well as many essays and non-fiction works. During his
career he was best known as a journalist but today he is best known for his
two most popular novels: Nineteen Eighty-Four and Animal Farm. Through
his writing, Orwell explored the best and the worst of humanity and its
institutions.
