Join us Spring 2015 as we read Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich. Ms. Ehrenreich, a journalist and political activist, embarked on an experiment of trying to survive on minimum wage over a three year period. During this time she worked as a waitress, a hotel maid, a house cleaner, a nursing home aide, and a Wal-Mart clerk in different parts of the United States. Through this experience, Ms. Ehrenreich discovered the challenges and difficulties minimum wage workers face in our country.
SKYCTC QEP Book Club is sponsored by the SKYCTC QEP Committee. Their financial contribution provided for the purchase of copies of Nickel and Dimed to be given away at our kickoff events.
